Chief Whaler Michael Ackermann writes:

Dear friends and Whalers,
Yes - finally and at last the CD is ready for "restoration". Most of you will know, that we already were in a similar state, but then, to all our joy and pleasure, our great Chris Copping added two songs which will be on the new re-release of our The Best of the Whalers Double CD. The two new tracks are: Conquistador and Shine on Brightly and I can tell you it was really worth waiting that long time ...

As you see now, I took over from our Whaler friends Charly Troksa and Mirek Plodzik, who had this great idea and made this great thing come true. I'm sure, that after the wonderful event a few weeks ago in Guildford, where a lot of the musicians played in the tribute-band and are also part of this CD, this item is a unique collector's item.

I found a guy from Bochum (deep in the "Ruhrgebiet") who - I'm sure - is doing a great job and with the liner notes of Roland Clare the CD is not only for the ear, but for the eye too, a wonderful disc.

Ordering ended on 31 January 2001; one double CD was DM 35.

You will know that Whaling Stories (The Gary Brooker Fan Club) produced a great new merchandise - sew on label, showing BJ Wilson as "hero". It was a 200 limited edition and a fantastic success (I sold about 20!). Now I decided to give with each order one of these labels for free. To all of you, who ordered already that label and paid for it: PLEASE FORGIVE ME and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SOLIDARITY !!

Stay well, Sail on, Whale on, Shine on !!!!
Michael
