The Dog from Berghof (Lieke / Pearson) 3:56
The Dog from Berghof is an Anglo-German collaboration, having been composed by Wolfgang Lieke (1952), whose concept for the text was shaped and finished by Southender Stan Pearson, a Procol and Paramounts fan from day one. Music and imagery, both building on strong Harum influences, paint an enigmatic portrait of this particular 'dog' from Berghof, Hitler's Alpine retreat. Wolfgang, a founding member of Whaling Stories, started his percussive career in 1965, playing his first public gigs at the age of fourteen, and has drummed in numerous groups to this day, including the Palers' Band at Guildford. This performance also features Helmut Lilbop (vocal), Peter Kühn (guitar) and Fredo Frerig (keyboards). |
