Robert's Box (Brooker-Reid) 4:27 , Alison Waits (Advent) 10:38
The American band Advent features Alan Benjamin (guitars, basses), Henry Ptak (keyboards, piano, lead vocals), Mark Ptak (keyboards, organ, vocals) and two drummers, Mike Carroll on Alison Waits and RJ Wilson (really!) on Robert's Box.
This eerily-authentic cover is the only non-original the band have recorded: they were initially considering Dead Man's Dream instead, whose spooky feel corresponds to that of their ghost story, Alison Waits. This is an ambitious, fully-realized piece of mature rock drama, marrying Arthur Hoffman's Poe-inspired lyric to Henry Ptak's folk, contemporary 'classical', and Prog influences.
It can also be heard on their début, self-titled CD (on Mellow Records) alongside, among many others, a Gentle Giant tribute-track. The full, Procolesque words of Alison may be read here; order the parent record from Alan in New Jersey
