Meanwhile, American Dan Murphy
wrote to Procol Harum, c/o 'Beyond the Pale', following
the Westbury show on 5 November.
'I just wanted to say it was a very special evening at Westbury on Friday. The band rocked the house and the fans were glued to their seats the entire time. The show went over an extra 45 glorious minutes from what I was told at the door and we loved every minute of it. 'You couldn't help but see how each band member relished playing and being there – you came and you conquered. Gary has just surrounded himself with such fantastic players – I can't imagine the band ever being better than this grouping. They are so in synch with each other, and the mutual respect and friendship shows as well. 'There was a lot of love all around that night and I just want to thank the band from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful time. You all went above and beyond; and this is from a 46 year-old that sees every genre of music – from the veteran acts to the newbies – thank you. Even when Gary started reminiscing about past NY area Procol Harum shows and asking who had been there, it was a nice touch that the fans loved. Great job fellas: I see at least 100 shows a year since I was 19, and I used to work for Polygram Records and in radio as well, but it was something magical last night that I have rarely seen. 'Thanks for the great website too – I really enjoy
surfing it because its packed with very interesting information,
history, and pictures – I can see a lot of time and effort goes into
this and it is also appreciated. |
