Shine on Brightly |
|
Homburg | |
Robert's Box |
Just beautiful. Solo by Josh after verse two, with great playful timing insert from Geoff Dunn during it. Sound here is clean and crisp. Terrific ending section with Dunn embellishings and full Hammond and French horn from the Yamaha Motif |
Wall Street Blues |
Nice jazzy-cum-bluesy piano; great jam-out centre section |
The Idol |
Nice structure |
A Dream in Ev'ry Home |
Very pleasant opening, starting with beats from Geoff Dunn then riffing added from Matt Pegg and Geoff Whitehorn; then the keyboards join in. Kinda Latin-themed beat, into full Procol sound during centre break. Pleasant solo to complete from Josh. A guy yells, 'Edmonton loves you!' |
Cerdes (Outside the Gates of) |
Matt Pegg opens; brilliant solo from Geoff Whitehorn |
Simple Sister | |
Interval |
Great response as band returns |
The VIP Room | |
Kaleidoscope |
Gary mentions that the tour of ten days 'feels like a month. With big buildings it's nice to have a place like Santa Barbara and a street one can walk between 12 and 3 am. Gives us the Spirit of Nøkken anyway.' |
The Blink of an Eye |
'A lot of Procol songs aren't always obvious with images and such. This is obvious. We'd like to dedicate this to the emergency services of 9/11.' |
Pandora's Box |
Happy birthday to Nic ... and they play it |
Barnyard story | |
An Old English Dream |
Changes up piano intro punctuated but delayed [sic] |
Whaling Stories | |
Conquistador |
|
A Salty Dog |
'We''re at the seaside. There might be some seagulls around.' Full and rich |
Encores |
First time in a long time repetitive. clapping and stomping (you should have been at Leamington, One-Eye!) A tease of The Devil Came from Kansas and Gary says, 'We'll practise it and play it tomorrow in Los Angeles.' |
Whisky Train |
A change-up of the central guitar theme. Old theme comes in and out. All clear the stage for a Whisky drum solo. Just great stuff from Geoff Dunn |
Band introductions | |
A Whiter Shade of Pale |
Two verses. Slight, weak, call-for-more from crowd. Lovely guitar solo, traditional ending. Standing ovation |
