Missing in action: 105 seconds from 'Menace' in Part One of
the Worm and the Tree, the section that (on the vinyl release) comes after
the spoken
'the tree shrank away'. The CD doesn't include the attractive 5/8 Eb minor
canonical two-part invention on the piano, with its orchestral accretions,
nor the following monologue from 'worm was so greedy' through to '...
terrible fate lay in store for the tree.' (See
note on the structure of the suite)
