'Too Many Poets'

Makes me Wonder (Tocks)

Key to authors' pseudonyms

There’s a nutty man who says he lives near Varner
The little kid was telling all his mates
Where the hell is that said Jimmy Butcher
I don’t know, I think it’s in the States.

This bloke he always stares into the distance
And says that we should love the ones we hate
He rattled on and says I have this aura
And said my life was intertwined with fate.

I know it all sounds mad, but this funny dream I had
Makes me wonder if it could be true.

He said this fate had given me a mission
That I’d travel and had many things to do
He says that I’ll be leaving by next summer
Said Jimmy Butcher, ‘Great can I come too?’

The little kid then went back home at tea time
And wondered what the future had in store
He sat in bed and puzzled all that evening
Until his sleepy eyes could stay awake no more.
