'Too Many Poets'

Mrs Good For You (Sam 'Haha' Spoodle)

Key to authors' pseudonyms

She sits at bay
as I leave for the day
Off to work?
I nod with a jerk
I breathe with a sigh
as she bellows 'goodbye'!
And as if on cue.....
I hear, "Good for you!"

I'm hardly game
when she asks my name
Just trying to unwind
She's totally unresigned
"So, what do you do?"
asks Mrs Good For You
"I work for a living"
She isn't forgiving

It's a constant call
as she comes down the hall
It's a rough one at best
when she puts you to the test
But there isn't a day
when I don't want to say,
" Please find something to do
Mrs Good For You"

Reading a book
And that gets a look
What's it about?
She persists with a shout
It's just idle muse
As she stands there and chews
Then without a clue.....
I hear, 'Good for you!"

She's mad as a hatter
with all of her chatter
"Is that a new do
or a fresh shampoo?
What could be the matter
No one cares for her patter
Before you can shoo
it's ... "Good for you!"

Pretty busy she is
wanting to tell everyone this,
"I'm a bit lame
is the reason for the cane."
Oh, what the heck,
I'll just share a sec.
And as the wind blew....
I said, "Good for you!"
