You are warmly invited to The Palers' Convention which will take place in Manchester on Saturday 16 June from 7.45 pm prompt until 1.00 am. BtP has hired a very comfortable suite of rooms [see map below: it's a short distance from Palers' Base Camp] for the talk, live music and socialising; through the door is a licensed bar (open until 1 am) and lounge area, above that an intimate mezzanine – all private for Palers. See venue pictures here. Convention address: Harold Riley Suite, University House Salford University's attractive 'Peel Park' campus is 1.5 miles west of Manchester city centre, close to an extensive network of roads and railways. Manchester International Airport is less than 15 miles away and a British Rail station (Salford Crescent Station) is situated on the edge of the campus. The Convention has Disabled Access. There is car-parking directly outside … we are hiring a security man to look after this … If you are staying at Palers' Base Camp, get to the Convention by taxi : ring Radio Cars on 0161 236 3807 – or ask Jury's to ring for you – their manager guarantees BtP a maximum fare of 3 pounds, which is 75 pence each if you travel four-in-a-cab. Many thanks go to Paler Dave Knight for all his help getting this organised. |
Convention £ 12–00 per person Capacity is finite so please add yourself to the ticket-list by sending BtP an e-mail: click here. People who pre-book can collect their ticket on the door for 12 pounds; otherwise, entry is 15 pounds The Convention is priced to cover BtP's costs – hiring the room, PA, staff, and instruments (for which we had two very generous sponsors). |

We've also invited Procol Harum themselves … no guarantees, of course, that any of them will be free to come this time; but the whole band came to the Kristiansand Convention on 26 May, and listened to the Palers' Band with gracious interest. Many reports on last year's amazing convention may be found here.
The Palers' Band will play a couple of sets of Procol songs. This is a 'scratch' ensemble (see last year's twenty players here): this year's 23 players will be coming together on the day ... great excitement all round!
Capacity is finite – please add your name to our ticket-list by sending 'BtP' an e-mail: just click here. First come, first served!
