Experience (Guildford 2000 in particular) shows that all the fans have a good time if we stay in the same hotel ... it also helps to get prices down. 'Beyond the Pale' has negotiated a favourable deal with Jury's Inn, a fine modern three-star hotel in central Manchester: so convenient for the concert, in fact, that it actually overlooks the Bridgewater Hall, where Procol Harum are playing. [See area maps: high-resolution, low resolution]
All the rooms have en-suite bath or shower : some have spectacular city views. They have air-conditioning, satellite TV, modem line, hairdryer, and tea/coffee facilities; Jury's can cater, on request, for disabled guests. Prices and booking details are further down this page. Jury's Inn will be the Procol fans' base for accommodation, and for pre- and post-concert socialising on Sunday 17 June; on the night of Saturday 16 June we will be holding the Palers' Party a short distance away … to which all the members of Procol Harum are of course invited.
Rooms
'Beyond the Pale' has reserved a block of discounted rooms: there are rooms with double bed, rooms with double-bed + single bed, and rooms with double-bed + sofa-bed suitable for two children: see pictures below. You should be able to get exactly what you want, but an early booking is advised. Families can specify adjacent rooms with linking door.
Prices
These rooms are available to Palers at 55 pounds per night (normally 63 pounds). The price is for the room and does not vary according to the number of occupants. These discounted prices apply to Saturday 16 June (Palers' Party) and Sunday 17 June (Procol Harum concert); breakfast is charged per person in addition.
Weekdays are usually more expensive, but Palers who fancy an extended stay may book at the BtP weekend price (55 pounds) for Friday 15 June and Monday 18 June, subject to availability. Do please book very soon if you want to get Friday and Monday nights at this price. (If you're playing in the Palers' Band, staying on Friday night is advised: more about this at BtP later).
