Procol at a Dutch Bitterball Party …

Pictures from Hans Tammes and his home

Paler Hans Tammes invited members of Procol Harum to a Bitterball party in his Voorburg home after the Zoetermeer gig some 9 miles away. Here he is with Geoff Whitehorn. Hans is a musician of course, who played with the third Palers' Band, wrote and recorded the Amorta album, and contributed two excellent Procol versions to the first Palers' Project album, Lost in the Looking-Glass

Mark Brzezicki reads out something amusing; beside him, Jutta from Germany … it's a rare Procol gig that she doesn't turn up to.

Mark is pictured with Henk, a friend of Hans Tammes, owner of a record-shop where Hans has been a customer for twenty-five years

On the sofa beside Geoff is sound-man Graham Ewins, who continues to do a wonderful job for the band

In another part of the room, Procol historian Frans Steensma talks to John Grayson (in red), purveyor of Shine On's Procol Harum merchandise

Drinking from the bottle is Tony, a new member of the Procol crew, and responsible
for some dramatic lighting on stage.

All the cast of characters has been introduced higher up the page … the rest of the photographs
show the continuing festivities … and the Dutch interior

No sign of Gary and Matthew? Following the gig, they retired to the hotel …
to be ready to play the following night!
