Ringo Starr at Wintershall, 5 September 1998, after the All-Starrs had played A Whiter Shade of Pale:
'It knocks me out every night. That was the song of the Sixties: and believe me, I played on a couple of the others!'
Starr voiced the same opinionhere, at greater length:
“And with that period [the flower-power era] you can’t help think about us. Personally, I always think of Procol Harum. Everyone else thinks of me and the Fabs, but I think of Procol Harum, because to me A Whiter Shade of Pale is the ultimate '60s record.”
