Christmas quizzes 2012/13

5 January: the whole lot of 36 questions, and what to do next

Each day we've added three statements to the following list, and now it's complete. All you've needed to do is make a note, from day to day, of the number of the single statement that you consider to be true. Detailed 'how to play' instructions are here.

Today there's a new, simple instruction or two telling you how to turn your findings into prizes! They're on a separate page ... link below. As always, you will end up sending a very short answer to ‘Beyond the Pale’.

First, review all the questions, and your answers, to be sure that you have not made any elementary errors. Use the links, within the questions and answers, to help you check.

You'll also need to look at our fab prizes and decide which one you most favour ... you'll need to let us know the full preference-order of all twelve, eg [GAHBICJDKELF]

The final instruction is on this page ... but to get to it you need a username and password (lower-case letters) ... click here to enter these, when you've worked out what they are ...

You work out the username and password from the correct answers to the questions above: to get them, just read the helpful hints here.

And let's not forget the valuable clues: the username and the password have no capitals in them and are both the name of a town where Procol Harum did not play in 2012: tour dates here

In the unlikely event of there being fewer winners than prizes this year, early claimants will get more than their fair share!  Prizes will of course be awarded at the absolute discretion of Roland and Jens, who run 'Beyond the Pale', and whose decision will be final; their families are not eligible to enter. These puzzles were made up by someone listening to very exciting live recordings by Colosseum. Thanks to Jane Clare, from Perth in WA, once again our helpful and constructive guinea-pig for the whole puzzle-sequence.
