Christmas Conundrums 2003

Our fifteen fab prizes ...

Each year at Christmas, following the Scandinavian custom, BtP sets twelve days of Procol puzzles which great numbers of Palers follow with great interest and merriment ... at the end of the trail is a one-word answer, which you send in by e-mail to the webmasters, to win one (or more?) of the prizes below. The puzzles start on Christmas Day and they get easier and easier year by year, while the prizes get more and more munificent.

This year's fifteen freebies are, if possible, even more splendid than 1997's or 1998's or 1999's or 2000's or 2001's or 2002's: this is largely thanks to the generosity of our very kind friends at Shine On, Metro Records ... and of One-Eye and Franky and Gary Brooker.

Competitors should rank the above prizes in the order they favour them, and send in their preference with the solution to the puzzles. The message will look something like : "Prize preferences: IACKBOJFGEMNDH"

We shall allot the first three prizes on a beat-the-clock basis, with the earliest correct response earning its first choice of prize; after that all subsequent correct entries received in the next 24 hours will be placed in the BtP Homburg and the remaining dozen prizewinners will be drawn by a suitably Glamorous Assistant.

In the somewhat unlikely event of there being fewer than fifteen winners, the first people to submit correct answers will get more than their fair share of the prizes!

The quiz starts on Christmas Day and runs through to Twelfth Night. This year it asks you to identify Procol gigs by means of descriptions of who was there, what was played, and so on: all you need is some basic PH knowledge, and BtP's list of setlists. You can join in at any time, if you have a pencil and an internet connection! The answer at the end will be a single word, as in previous years.
