Christmas Conundrums 2007 : triumphant victors

And the winners are...

The answer to this year's series of conundrorum was one word, 'watch', as sung in Power Failure.

Here's the order of Triumphant Victors drawn from the BtP Homburg on 6 January. Thanks to this morning's BtP Assistant (click on her illustration). Winners get the highest remaining item based on their prize preferences: a good few people have got their first or second choice.

If your name appears on the winners' list below, please make sure we have your 'real world' address as soon as possible, and we'll activate the BtP snails to bring the goodies to the various continents required. Do send your address even if you've won before: saves our fossicking in the files. Do note, however, that BtP can't be held responsible if these prizes do get swallowed by the mail system. We can only do our best, and we act in good faith ...

Thanks, Sophie!

Many thanks to everyone who took part in this year's puzzles, specially a handful who were thoughtful enough to say what fun they'd had. Commiserations go to a great number of respondents whose names perforce remained in the BtP Homburg following the drawing of lots. Further commiserations to a posse of competitors whose responses were 'differently correct' ... all these errors were caused simply by failing to read the final instruction, which asked for a word from a song, not the name of the song itself. An overwhelming majority of players had figured out the right answer, 'watch'; several uses of the word in the instructions, as well as a picture of a watch on every page, were of course intended to be their reassurance.

Now send in those 'real world' addresses!
