Journey's End : album-words

Suzanne • checked for BtP by Matthew Fisher

Thanks to the kind co-operation of Matthew Fisher, BtP is proud to present the authenticated words for his 1973 solo-album, Journey's End   The train pulled out the station as I waved Suzanne goodbye
And I turned around to start that lonely walk back home
And all the time I wondered what I'd noticed in her eye
When the whistle blew to tell me I was all alone

I guess I'll never know
It was all so long ago
But I wonder where Suzanne will be tonight

People tell me I'm wrong, they say I gotta change my ways
Well I'm changing but it's not the way they had in mind
There's one thing I know for sure - I can only be myself
And when that's not good enough I just get left behind

I guess that's the reason why
Suzanne told me goodbye
But I wonder where Suzanne will be tonight

The snow lies all around, I guess it must be cold outside
But the wind don't seem to blow, and my radio won't go
And the sound of falling snow is all that I can hear

I sometimes wish I knew
If she gets lonely too
And I wonder where Suzanne will be tonight
