Exotic Birds and Fruit

Norwegian running-order

Per Hermansen writes to BtP from Oslo, Norway

'I've been up in the attic tonight and looked at my huge Harum collection. Haven't seen it for a long time. Once upon a time I will start scanning all the strange compilations still not figuring on the site (lots of them) and other stuff in my possession.

'When I saw this Norwegian cassette version of Exotic Birds I just had to scan the artwork and send it immediately. Have a close look at the song order, pretty weird starter on this version. It's of course because of the old problem with blank tape and the need of two sides equal in length. But I can't say Monsieur R. Monde is the great start of this album as we're used to.

'Nothing But The Truth is one of my all time Harum favourites and really deserves to start this album. I remember Elton John giving the song a great review in NME. He was a guest writer in NME the week NBtT was released and as far as I remember he was especially impressed of the piano part on behalf of the famous Mr Brooker. (I've got the critique somewhere, you'll have it one day)'.
