The day has been set for the lunch in Melbourne with Gary and Chris. Sunday February 20 is the day.
As the Coppings have kindly offered their Hotel Grand for the day, we now need to work out numbers and costs.

We will be posting to BtP records of the day: words and lots of pictures (first reports here)
Bon appetit!

31 January 2000: Stephen Wallace contacted BtP with this message:
To coincide with Gary's Ultimate Rock tour down under in March, we are organising a 'meet and greet ' reception for him in Melbourne.
With the assistance of his UK management we are hoping to get Chris Copping along to welcome the great man back after 27 years. We would love to welcome as many fans as possible to this event as it has been a long time coming.
We are hoping to present him with a special commemoration of his visit.
If you would like to meet the legend and commemorate his talent personally, contact Stephen Wallace in Melbourne email swal@deakin.edu.au
or by phone BH (03) 92446865 or Home (03) 9876 4957 and we will keep you informed of the arrangements.
The Melbourne concert was scheduled to be in Melbourne Colonial Stadium on 20 February but has been rescheduled to 11 March because they haven't finished building the venue. This was reported to BtP by both Stephen Wallace and Greg Smith.
Greg also adds:
For those interested the venue is Colonial Stadium. It is a 55,000 seater sports stadium with retractable roof that has been designed not only to accommodate a range of sport but also arena concerts. It has allegedly been designed to provide excellent concert acoustics. Streisand is scheduled to appear at the venue on 17 March and her entourage gave the venue a major thumbs up on acoustic design.

BtP will keep those attending updated.
