This mp3, first heard at Glastonbury Podcasting ('from the mystic isle of Avalon'), deals with how one of the BtP team became interested in Procol Harum music, and offers a little background to some of the activities promoted by 'Beyond the Pale'.
John Edgar, professional story-teller and Palers' Project contributor, was performing in Bristol in December 2006 and staying with Roland from BtP, with whom he formerly worked in a touring theatre company. John took the opportunity to ask the ailing webperson a few questions, and recorded all the conversation (17 minutes.)
Among several mistakes, you will hear the interviewee saying 'San Francisco' where he meant 'Los Angeles' (sorry Jeremy); a fair bit of it would have been more thoughtfully or elegantly worded by someone more accustomed to talking about himself in this way. In a sense, though, the interview is a component (albeit penumbral) of the Procol Harum story which this website seeks to document, and that's why it's presented here.
John Edgar dressed it up nicely with music in the Podcast proper, and book-ended it with a bit of interesting context that is not reproduced here. Anyone who wants to hear the broadcast version, then, may find it still available at Glastonbury Podcasting or at the StoryJohn website.
