Procol Harum's 40th Anniversary

The Palers' Band sets up at St John's Smith Square

BtP presentsProcol Harum's 40th Birthday Celebrations 20 / 21 July 2007

Antonio Costa Barbé (from Italy) checks the RD600; it belongs to Roland from BtP, but was used by Procol
the night before; Johnny Magner has reloaded the owner's sounds into it, over-writing Gary Brooker's sounds

Benny Tworek from Denmark's Procol Harum Project tries the new B3, watched by Søren Borello

Guitarists Gary Shepard and Alberto Gallarini discuss the sounds they will elicit
from our borrowed Hughes and Kettner rig (thanks, Geoff)

Percussionists Jens Anders Ravnaas and Willem Andrè Romkes setting up the drums, on loan from Martin Wright,
who played later in the day with Gary Brooker and Guests in the 'Procol Rarum' concert

Two more organists: Jeremy Gilien and Ian Hockley admire the digital B3

Marvin Chassman, whose tambourine-playing has attracted praise from a Mr G Brooker

Peter had had to hurry to Bristol the previous evening, 'into the flood', to collect a couple of sports medals: tempestuous
road- and rail-disruption starved him of sleep until he found his way back to the 'Control Room' under the organ at St John's

Peter (awake now ...), Benny, Poul and Dave Knight, among others, listen as the soundcheck
unfolds, capably conducted by Graham Ewins, Procol's sound-man
