Geoff Whitehorn at St George's, Brandon Hill, Bristol
With Elkie Brooks • 28 July 2007
For the third time in nine days, Geoff plays a gig
in a church.
Later he spoke warmly
about the Procol and 'Rarum' gigs at St John's Smith Square the week before
'Success means never having to wear a suit' is the tee-shirt of the day.
The spotlight is a bit bright for the camera-setting: he really
has got a face. The repertoire is very varied: besides
EB's catalogue of hits, there are standout numbers from the singing of
Muddy Waters and of Billie Holiday
The second half was more rock-orientated: the moving figures here
are Geoff and Elkie
The hall was packed, but the people in the gallery had a somewhat compromised
view
Geoff in the spotlight again, with Lee Noble in the background
Ms Brooks was once again in amazing voice and certainly pleased the Bristol audience mightily
GW (guitars and bvs), Lee Noble (bvs and percussion), Mike
Richardson (drums, harmonica, bvs)
Brian Badhams (bass, bvs) and Andrew Murray (piano, bvs)
And they're off! Thanks, Geoff: great show, and plenty in the pipeline
