Barrie “BJ” James Wilson

March 18, 1947–Oct 8, 1990

Barrie “BJ” James Wilson, 43, died Monday at South Hills Nursing Home in Eugene of an extended illness.

He was born in London, England to James and Peggy Brockett Wilson.

He was raised in London and played the drums for the rock group “Procol Harum” until 1979, when he moved to Kings Valley.

While in Oregon he continued to work as a professional drummer for Joe Cocker, Tom Petty, Supertramp, AC/DC and several other local and national bands.

He married Susan J Jillions on May 3, 1969 in Los Angeles, Calif.

He enjoyed spending time in the out-of-doors, camping and fishing.

In addition to his wife Susan, of Corvallis, survivors include two daughters, Sarah Jane Wilson and Nicola Celeste Wilson, both of Corvallis; his parents, Ron and Peggy Betty of London; a brother, Richard Betty of London; and a sister, Pamela Quinn of England.

Viewing hours will be Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the McHenry Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the McHenry Funeral Home. Vault interment will follow in the Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Dale Harris will officiate.

Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice in care of the McHenry Funeral Home, 206 NW Fifth St., Corvallis.
