Christmas Quizzes 2018–2019

Question of the Day : 3 January

In each clue you will find something very useful – a word hint – picked out in bold, suggesting something you can Google to get you started.

10 H

By removing the spaces (and brackets!) from the title of this little early waltz one can lay bare the word ‘enemy’ lurking within it, all five letters consecutively.

10 I

Unusually this Procol song title is simply a female name often associated with the actress Blanche Roosevelt in The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan.

10 E

Jubilant Procol fans, at a concert in July 1997, heard a mere fragment of this then-obscure Brooker/Reid song – it wasn't on the setlist, but it appears in concert reports at 'Beyond the Pale' – and played only as a piano/organ duet, whereas the full studio version, when it was finally recorded and released on CD, was played by the entire band.
