Here's the order of Triumphant Victors as selected from the Homburg, in front of the Christmas Tree, by Ellice Dow (see illustration), a suitably glamorous and impartial assistant!
Jens says: I have been travelling to England a few times with some friends. One of them we call 'Rain Man' because he easily gets lost and needs constant guarding. The first morning on one of the trips he went down for breakfast, and found that breakfast was not being served yet. He didn't understand why, until he found out that he had adjusted his watch one hour in the wrong direction (Norway is on GMT+1 hour). So he was two hours early for breakfast. I laughed very much at that, and have often told this story to great amusement for all my friends. Yesterday I was behaving like 'Rain Man', and the final thrust of the puzzle got uploaded two hours early. Since this had an impact on the 'race against the clock' for the top three prizes, we have decided that all prices will be rewarded according to the draw, from the Hombrug, between senders of all correct answers received within 24 hours.
Many thanks to everyone who took part in this year's puzzles, specially those who were kind enough to comment on the enjoyment they'd got from the whole procedure. Commiserations to the many, many entrants who submitted correct answers, but whose names lingered too long in the Homburg. And further commiserations to a very small number who submitted incorrect answers ... but if you send in a three-word song title, when we ask for one word, there ain't much we can do to help you! The solution, by the way, is here.
If your name appears on the list below, please make sure we have your 'real world' address as soon as possible, and these prizes will be winging their way ... except for the Procol Promo ... as advertised, that will not be released until close to the official appearance of The Well's on Fire ... the reason is obvious!

Special commendations go to Marvin and Piotr, who have been on the prizelist for each of our six years of Christmas puzzles: a bizarre and wonderful achievement, specially given the random drawing of prize-winners this year!
