A Whiter Shade Of Pale For years I thought the line in A Whiter Shade of Pale was We skipped the last fandango (We skipped the light fandango) There are several more good mishearings at the 'Kiss This Guy' archive: I was feeling kind of sissy (I was feeling kind of sea-sick) [read the full account] Sixteen vested versions who were leaving for the post (Sixteen vestal virgins who were leaving for the coast) [read the full account] |

Cerdes (outside the Gates of) has given me more mishearings than
any other Procol song (writes Kenneth
Willis)
I always thought the final line was
"While my eyes reach out for 'fags' - especially as it rhymes
with the 'flags' of the previous line!
From the same song, I always heard

"Neptune dances home by it ... "
"But Suza Sam can only hear, and screams out: 'Bleedin' sot!' "
"Joni sips his creme de menthe - from Terraco it comes"
"Down technical blind alleys live the wraiths upon the trees"

better not got there !!)
- and I'm definitely with Marvin on the "reed-spoiling wind" !
Misheard: two holy cities cram the Mount actual: but Sousa Sam can only hear the screams of Peep the Sot misheard: but Sousa Sam can only hear screams of "Beat the

From that day on and because there are no lyrics for Simple Sister on the album jacket, I heard 'Sinful Sister'.
