The front cover of this
album is of course immensely familiar, and it has been
reproduced countless times as the music it contained has
been re-released again and again. But what about the back cover? There's a slight but very interesting detail in the very bottom right-hand corner – a stereo catalogue number – that deserves close scrutiny! I wish I still had the letter Regal Zonophone sent me in 1968! They said that, despite the implication on the sleeve, no plans existed for a stereo version of this album. |
