Procol Harum's First Album

In stereo at last, and offered for sale

It's long been the Holy Grail of Procoldom, to find this album in the fabled stereo pressing. Way back in 1967 fans noticed that the bottom right-hand corner of the obverse of the cover (see scan below) included a stereo catalogue number, but most of us found only mono tracks on the albums we bought.

BtP has recently been approached by a musician who wishes to remain anonymous, but who was well-placed in the late 60s to have acquired such a rare item. She wants to establish the market value of the album, which is to be offered for sale to the highest bidder. If anyone reading this would be interested in owning the stereo pressing, they should send in a 'silent bid' using this link. We shall contact the highest bidder and put them in touch with the lady concerned, who now lives in Baffin Land. Offers are invited in the region of 42 Inuit thalers.

There is spindle-wear as the label-scan shows, but the album is still eminently playable. Both sides are stereo, and are being offered for sale separately.
