The Well's on Fire

Geradezu vorsintflutlich sind Procol Harum, deren großer, bis in die Neuzeit überlieferte Hit „A whiter shade of pale" von 1967 stammt.

Rather antediluvian are Procol Harum, whose hit – passed down to modern times – is A whiter shade of pale from 1967.

These dinosaurs have made a new album that is mentioned here not because they're an endangered species, but because it turned out well.

Blues-tinctured songs, solemn tempi, the well-known organ-sounds, a little bit of melancholy.

Excluding the modern-pop opener, Shadow Boxed, much sounds a bit like an oldie-revival, but it's still fresh.

The target group is audibly over 30; these people don't look for a hit, because such a thing is is missing here.

But their one hit is enough for a century and will surely be in their live programme, I'll bet you.

Thanks, Peter Grotmann, who transcribed and translated this piece
