John Ferrari, probably BtP's longest-running correspondent, writes to us (February 2009) with 'photos of the venue in Dallas for the 30 September 1991 show; a good sized stage was put up in the area in front of the statue of Elvis Presley. It was sort of a peculiar site for a Procol show and pales before some of those spectacular European venues in recent years, but there you have it; history is what history is. It was a free show to the public, thousands turned out, and all went extremely well ... beautiful weather, wonderful sound, a good set-list (I like the Prodigal Stranger album) and the band played flawlessly. The site is about a quarter of a mile from where President Kennedy was shot in '63'. | |
