Christmas greeting

e-mailed by Roland to Beyond the Pale visitors

Dear friends Beyond the Pale

This is to wish you all an excellent holiday, Happy Christmas, and a Merry New Year in which we can hope to hear more Procol Harum music on record and on stage ... no-one can fail to be heartened by the huge Internet interest in the band, and maybe this can be harnessed to bring about something else like the Redhill concert, where players and fans can get together for further Unique Entertainment. Thanks again to Diane and John for showing how such a wonderful idea can be made real.

Since Jens invited me aboard, to co-edit the 'remastered' website, I've been delighted to make e-friends with so many learned and witty and curious fans all round the world – and equally delighted to receive so many articles, new and 'second-hand', to publish on our pages. We've been growing at the rate of at least a page a day since our launch, and our ambition is to keep growing; this depends hugely on the great efforts of the PH Internet Community, and of our friends in the offline fan-clubs; so do keep writing in to us in 1998.

Meanwhile I hope everyone sees the greeting from Mr Brooker at the website, and enjoys our little season of puzzles starting on Christmas Day. Many thanks once again to our friends at Shine On and Westside Records for the generous range of prizes.

Let nothing blacken your Christmas ... keep a clear eye and a steady head!

Roland
