They wrote some music for a film of that name, then later the tune got some words by Philippe Tatarcheff '... a very dour Calvinist from Switzerland who lives like an hermit and likes to write about cows.' |

They played the Fugs' version of this song, and asked Tatarcheff to translate it into French. His 'Ah Tournesol' didn't fit the tune, so they wrote a fresh tune, and then used it for the original words. They were just feeling their way with this new song. Much rejigging of the harmonies went on during the sound check. |
