The Ghosts of A Whiter Shade of Pale

Guesswork quiz: win your free copy of Henry Scott-Irvine's fine book ... plus!

Here are some piles of the new Procol Harum biography – and all round the world people are trying to guess what's inside it! Now you can turn that guesswork into handsome prizes ... read on ...

Would you like to win one of these fine books, and in addition a copy of the new Classic Rock Posters (60 Years of Posters, Flyers & Handbills 1952–2012) which is also published by Omnibus Press in November 2012?

The latter has 256 pages, 279x248 mm, softcover, a price close to twenty pounds), and contains Procol stuff as well as masses more.

How to play: just use your skill, judgment, Google and (mostly) outright guesswork to answer the following five simple multiple-choice questions: there will be two lucky winners (thanks, Omnibus Press)

1

How many times does the word ‘alleged’ (or variants like ‘allege’, ‘allegedly’ etc) occur in the book?

[a] under twenty
[b] over fifty

2

How many times does the wording 'www.procolharum.com' occur in the book?

[c] under two
[d] over sixty

3

Which one of these Procol fans is not
mentioned in the book?

[e] Bert Saraco
[f] Niels-Erik Mortensen
[g] Unsteady Freddie

4

Which celeb from the world of film
is not mentioned in the book?

[h] Alan Parker
[i] Martin Scorsese
[j] Buster Keaton

5

Whose parents had the forenames
 'Leslie' and 'Milly' according
to the book?

[k] Keith Reid
[l] Matt Pegg
[m] Christiane Legrand

How to win: just send five letters of the alphabet (for instance [acgjk] or whatever you think is right) to webmaster@procolharum.com
Don't forget: even a random guess could be better than everyone else's random guesses! So give it a try ... you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

The highest-scoring entries received by midnight GMT on 14 November will go into the BtP Homburg. The first two names drawn out by a suitably glamorous assistant
(subject to availability) will be the winners and will be sent the two fine prize books – Procol, and Posters – from our friends at Omnibus Press

Small print: only one five-letter guess from each person, please, and none from the families of Jens / Roland, nor from Henry, obviously
