The Well's on Fire

How to promote it by Internet voting

Holger Neumeyer writes to BtP (March 2003)

Maybe I can contribute a promotional idea. Our local radio station, Radio Hamburg, is presenting a non-stop hit parade called Top 814 (next year it'll be 815) starting on Easter Saturday and ending in the evening hours of Easter Monday. The listeners can vote for whatever song they like. As long as it gets enough votes, it will be played somewhere between 814 and 1.

Last year I voted a Procol song somewhere into the 700s by sending in a mere 25 votes. So why not try to promote some two or three songs (e.g the songs that were attracting the ovations in the concerts) from The Well's On Fire this year by using the power of all Procol fans. Voting is possible by internet. I hope everyone understands the German explanations. Otherwise see the illustration, right, for a suggestion.

Last day for voting is March, 29th. Those who are interested can listen to the Top 814 over internet radio.

BtP suggests that Palers vote for So Far Behind, The Emperor's New Clothes, or Weisselklenzenacht. If we can get one or more of these songs placed high in the Easter countdown, it will significantly increase Procol sales in Germany, where they have been fantastically well-received on stage, and where ... according to rumour ... they have already been invited back.

And more sales could mean further albums from the band ...
