On 10 July 2000, following literally months of uncertainty, a FAX to 'Beyond the Pale' confirmed that Procol Harum were indeed to play Guildford, the nearest large town to Gary Brooker's home, in the summer of 2000.
The Multimedia Arts Festival (later renamed as The Web Arts Festival) takes place in a huge public park; and with its four performance zones and quaintly comprehensive mix of ingredients it will clearly be a quintessentially English affair.
