'Palers' are arranging to congregate at the 46-room Jarvis Hotel, 253 Upper High Street, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 3JG. Telephone (0)1483 564511, FAX (0)1483 31160. This was recommended by The Commander himself.

All Palers: Let's meet for a pre-concert drink in the pub at Jarvis Hotel. Procoholics are expected to assemble from 4 o'clock for beers, drinks, tea or whatever. And for departure for the Civic Theatre at an appropriate time.

All about the Jarvis Hotel, including online booking: the prices quoted on their webpage don't include the weekend rate, which applies on Friday 18 December: this is 36.50 pounds per person per night, including breakfast: the hotel tells us there are rooms free that night. There's a room where Procol fans may gather, though there isn't a piano, sadly.

As of 11 November a second hotel has been selected for Procoholic visitors. This is Carlton Hotel. 36 London Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 2AF, Phone: +44 (0)1483 303030, Fax: +44 (0)1483 5346. This was selected by the webmaster via the Internet: no guarantees about the standard of the hotel are given, but it is very close to the concert venue.

More details on Carlton Hotel here. The hotel quoted 38 pounds for a single room with shower, including full English breakfast. Several rooms available as of 10 November.

Latest news: by 10 December it was reported that Carlton only has 70 pound rooms left. If this is too much for you, we recommend the Guildford hotel advisor. (I wish BtP had negotiated a reduction on these rooms - but maybe the management will  buy us a beer on the house?)

December 15. Jonas Soderstrom tells BtP that Quinns Hotel has rooms available: approx 40 pounds for a single room.

'Base Camp' Hotel Southend
'Palers' are arranging to congregate at The Tower Hotel, 146 Alexandra Road, Southend, Telephone 01702 348635.
The hotel is near Club Riga and was recommended by David Bronze. Dave knows the manager of this hotel, and will 'warn' him that several 'Palers' will be partying through the night. The manager is said to be the sort of manager who will enjoy this.

The Tower Hotel Pub will be the meeting point for all Palers and other Procoholics during our stay in Southend.
