Souvenir d'Amsterdam

Les Cloportes ('The Woodlice')

(Thanks, Jonas Søderstrøm)

A French group – Les Cloportes – has recorded a version of Souvenir of London, under the title Souvenir d'Amsterdam.

You'll find their website at  http://www.goto.fr/musique/cloportes/clop_alb.html

An Altavista/Babelfish translation of their site – my French is terrible – gives this almost understandable information:

  • Their first album, engraved on very  beautiful gold CD spangled and constellated with diamonds, is entitled  OUF! What, and the ludic spirits will have noted it, gives FOU! (= INSANE!) if one reads it backwards. Moreover, the letters of the word CLOPORTES (= WOODLICE) laid out in opposite direction give SETROPOLC what does not mean absolutely anything but it is funny nevertheless.

  • The CD has twelve tracks, as far as I can tell Sd'A / SoL seems to be the only cover. They have a single off this album, which can be listened to at
