When I bought my scanner last year I immediately started making
scans from my Procol vinyl collection. I had great fun learning
my way around my software by making multiple scans and stitching
them together for full-image renditions. I spent hours cleaning
them up, enhancing colors, and massaging out small imperfections
and 'moire' patterns that plague scans of four-color process
printing images.
When I heard that the Maestro would be coming through town with the Ringo All-Starrs tour, I decided to design and create a tee-shirt for Gary in the hopes that I might present it to him. The finished product, which represents approximately forty cumulative hours of loving labor, turned out better than I could have imagined. And in the end, good fortune smiled upon me as I seized the opportunity to hand over the shirt to him following his concert on March 25.
He was careful to check that all eleven albums were included. And I was proud to have delivered a 'one-of-a-kind' article to add to his sizeable collection. Should any of you Palers, Whalers, or Mailers spot the Commander sporting this shirt, I would be delighted to hear of it.
