Sam Cameron's Procolpaedia

T

TRAFFIC
UK band of similar biography to PH. Singer-keyboardist with blues background. They started with 'psychedelic' hits and kept going through the seventies due to location in the prog-rock niche. Reconvened for one album in the early 1990s.

There are many who find Stevie Winwood's voice similar to Gary Brooker's and it is a safe bet to say there is no one else with whom he has been more frequently compared. Allegedly, Keith Reid was in position to be their lyricist, in pre-Procol days, but Jim Capaldi was not keen on this. Capaldi had a hit with Love Hurts a song performed, orchestrally, in the 90s by Procol Harum

TYRANNOSAURUS REX [later T REX]
Acoustic dippy hippy duo and later 70s glam-rock pin-up chartsters courtesy of respraying Chuck Berry songs for pubescent girls.

In his youth, leader Marc Bolan spent much time with Keith Reid in the East End of London.
