Opening 7 July 2001, a new exhibition in Copenhagen shows photographer David Wedgebury's pictorial chronicle of the Sixties. Between 1963-8, Wedgebury was a part-time free-lance photographer, later he was employed by the Decca / Deram labels. He is responsible for a lot of the British Rock and Pop album sleeves of the period, but this exhibition shows a lot of practically unknown pictures.
Among Wedgebury's victims are - just to name a few - Davy Jones aka David Bowie, Mick Jagger, The Who, The Ronettes, Marianne Faithfull - and Our Friends, Procol Harum. The exhibition shows the famous early photos of Procol in their Chinese mandarin suits with funny hats. A must for every Procoholic tourist and residents in Copenhagen this Summer.
"My Generation. Photos from a time when the Beat music was young".
7 July – 19th August. Fotografisk Center, Gammel Strand 48, Copenhagen.
Thanks, Niels-Erik
