A new version of AWSoP seems to be out in Germany. These excerpts from the dish-channel VIVA reveal that the 16 years old Pegah - a German girl of Iranian origin - has a local hit with the song

Pegah ist erst 16 und schon auf dem besten Weg dazu, ein Popstar zu werden. Die gebürtige Iranerin, die bei ihren Eltern in Berlin lebt, nahm eine zeitge-mäße Version der Procul [sic] Harum-Hymne 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' aus dem Jahr 1967 auf. Wie die Generation der Eltern - und Großeltern? - werden auch die Kids des Jahres 2000 auf den Hippie-Hit abfahren.

Pegah is just 16 and already on her way to become a rock-star. The Iranian-born girl, who now lives in Berlin, has created a contemporary version of the Procol Harum-hymn A Whiter Shade of Pale dating back to 1967. The kids of the year 2000 will embrace this hippie-hit as did their parents - and grandparents?

Back in 1967, Gary Brooker and his band Procol Harum tore the hippie generation down from their chairs with A Whiter Shade of Pale. Today, the unforgettable song with the Bach-introduction is available in a version by Pegah, a 16-year old schoolgirl from Berlin. Pegah will record her first album during the next months.
