A signed, numbered CD of AWSoP
To be re-auctioned to help a friend in need
Michael Miller writes to 'Beyond the Pale' that the auction described below took place on Tuesday 5 March 2002 and a lot of money was raised for Andy Wolfe; but since the AWSoP lot didn't reach its reserve (many of the people who showed up were perhaps rather young to appreciate what it was) it is going to be placed at eBay where it should have a better chance. Thanks to all Palers who took an interest in it first time round .. and good luck in the bidding when it does go public.
"Gary Brooker gave me a signed limited-edition of the CD of A Whiter Shade of Pale, as shown in the illustration here. Like the AWSoP CD in the illustration, it is signed by Gary and Keith. "He donated it to me to help raise money for a friend of mine, Andy Wolfe, who has a rare, life-threatening blood disease and desparately needs a bone "The CD will be up for auction in New York this coming Tuesday 5 March 2002 in Manhattan. "Keith Reid has now come forward with the offer of a hand-written and signed paper copy of the words to AWSoP: this will go along with the CD. "It will be at Eden Restaurant and Lounge, 28 West 20th St, starting at 6:30pm. There is a $25 admission which includes one drink and snacks. "Also, a large 11x14 photo of Gary and Keith will be given along with CD and the letter of authenticity." |

We hope this news will be of interest to all Palers living within striking distance of Manhattan. If you can't be there, but you like the look of this valuable and attractive item, why not drop Mike a line expressing your interest?
