For those unacquainted with the delights of England's beautiful West Country, the map below shows, among other features, the fine city and county of Bristol (regional capital, England's eighth-largest city); Chew Magna with its scenic waterscapes and nearby stone circles; Weston-super-Mare, former home of Banksy's 'Dismaland' Bemusement Park; Wookey Hole with its spectacular cave-systems; Glastonbury (home of the world's largest greenfield festival) with its magical Tor (visited by Jesus); the alcohol-free town of Street; Portishead, toponymically linked with the famous band; Dunster with its picturesque yarn market; Kilve (home of the dragon Blue Ben); and, north of the Bristol Channel (with its two Viking islands), Cardiff, capital of Wales (one of England's two adjoining country), and Barry, where steam locomotives come home to die. What's not to like?
Minehead is about 65 miles by road from Bristol.
