Before Procol Harum play The London Palladium

Eating with fellow-fans on 2 April 2020

The concert on 2 April is cancelled; perforce, our gathering will not take place. Sorry.

Please read the entire page before sending your details

30 January: the seated restaurant accommodation is now full: thanks to all who booked. Commiserations to those who delayed their response.

Overall, far more people responded, far more quickly, than we experienced last time Procol played the Palladium: a good sign!

Countries represented will include Australia 1, Canada 1, Denmark 5, England 16, Finland 2, France 4, Germany 8, Greece 2, Hungary 2, Ireland 1, Italy 2, Norway 7, Oman 1, Poland 1, Portugal 3, Scotland 4, Spain 2, Switzerland 1, USA 12 and as-yet-undeclared 5.

Late bookers will be put on a waiting-list. If you have reserved a place, and can't use it, please let us know (webmaster@procolharum.com).

There is a little additional capacity for people happy to stand at high tables and order the 'sharing' platter ... let us know in an e-mail (webmaster@procolharum.com) if you'd like to do this.

Procol Harum, with orchestra and chorus, will perform their 'Souvenir of London' show at the London Palladium on Thursday 2 April 2020.

Fans from all over the world will be looking for places to gather and mingle before and after the show.

'Beyond the Pale' invites fans (many of whom will have flown to the UK specially for a few days in London) to gather on the evening of the show.

We've reserved a dining space for this purpose in Soho at the excellent O'Neill's Carnaby Street (37–38 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7JF) ... click here for map

The food here is tasty and reasonably priced: please click here for the current menu in pdf form. It may not be exactly the same in April, but changes will be minimal, and prices likewise. Plenty of vegetarian options. See below for photos of draught beers at the bar.

Access: our dining area is at road level, and there are plenty of tables you can reach without traversing any steps. The main toilets are on the floor below, but there is one close by, on the level of the dining room, for anyone who prefers not to use the stairs.

O'Neill's is about three minutes' level walk from The London Palladium ... just one road to cross. The nearest tube station is
Oxford Circus.

Procol's Palladium show is billed as starting at 6.30 pm (we guess this is when doors open ... watch this space for confirmation). BtP's event starts at 4.30 pm, giving you a good chance for a sociable drink and meal before we cross the road to the show itself.

O'Neill's will be open after the Procol show, closing at 11.30 pm. The manager, Raul, wants to welcome us after the music ... seating will almost certainly be available, but is not reservable post-show.

If you'd like to eat & drink, with fellow-fans from different countries, from 4.30 on Thursday 2 April, please send an e-mail, reserving your place (s), to event@procolharum.com .  We'll send you a reservation response ... but check your Trash folder, as such automated e-mails sometimes get mistaken for Spam.

But note that, as of 30 January, we're booked to capacity

The restaurant seats 80 maximum. Please include the names of all members in your e-mail reservation. We'll have your names at the door: your seat will be guaranteed (but see above: we've now reached capacity). Most other restaurants in the area will be crowded, and not bookable before showtime.

As our map showeth, the gathering and the gig are a couple of minutes' walk apart; and
the Tube station is on the corner of  a nearby block. The distances involved are minimal!

Please don't send money to 'Beyond the Pale'! Your BtP reservation secures you a table and a seat ...
... you'll check the menu and order in the ordinary way, paying the O'Neill's staff

More booze! And of course there are wine and soft drinks as well.

Order from the menu, pay the restaurant in the ordinary way. Don't send us money!

Summary: if you'd like to eat / drink from 4.30 on Thursday 2 April, please send an e-mail, reserving your place (s), to event@procolharum.com
But note that, as of 30 January, we're booked to capacity

We've made reservation for 80 people ... first-come, first-served. We look forward to receiving your e-mail, naming everyone in your party.
