Mary's Miscellany (22)

Procol images from BtP and other sources, with new commentaries and captions by Mary Roussey

BJ was voted Best Drummer in the Playboy Music Polls of the early '70s

BJ always had an incredible feel for the dynamics of a song

May he rest in everlasting peace

Amazed he didn’t whack his elbows on the snare!

The 'octopus in a tub' sat very low with arms swirling chaos with precision!

Bobby Harrison showed musical talent early – starting at the age of six

A Bobby Harrison quotation:  “I left Procol Harum because of the lifestyle in the rock business.  There were a lot of Mafia-type agents round in the '60s and '70s”

When Alan Cartwright joined Procol Harum in 1971 it restored the band to a five-piece:  Gary Brooker, BJ Wilson, Dave Ball, Chris Copping and Alan

Alan Cartwright was a member of Procol Harum from 1971–1976
