Webmaster Jens, always the genial master of
ceremonies, welcomes all the revellers to the house and garden of Paul
(pictured, right)
and Marion ... and explains that (though it is of course a BtP party) he and
Roland (pictured left) have been almost entirely idle
Heidi Widmer -- gig-review-blogger par
excellence -- was ushered into the party to the strains of Happy Birthday to
You.
What's more, it was actually her birthday. Also pictured, her husband Jakob, and
Rolf Kindler
From Oman, Ian Hockley, shortly to play a few tunes at the piano
From Helsinki in Finland, Markku and Sari (who were also at the Freising party the year before)
Very special and unexpected guest, Gary Brooker. Not pictured, the wasp that has just stung his lip
Back in good health, Geoff Curtis, Procol's soundman, who had to
miss the Dominion Theatre gig in November, with Thomas Raa Olsen from
Denmark and of course Matt Pegg from Procol Harum ('the only Brummie in the
band' by his own admission, an observation prompted by his
being offered the use of an insect-repellent spray called something like 'Brumm-Away')
The Commander insisted on being photographed with this dog, part
of the extended entourage of
monitor-engineer Thomas Wyler, who had driven up to Winterbach from his home in
Switzerland
Geoff Dunn, Peter Christian. A drummer and a writer about genealogy
Whaler-in-Chief Michael Ackermann, exhibiting to fellow guests
the self-inflicted shinjury he
suffered during the Wuppertal Chainsaw Massacre just a few hours before the
party
