118 musicians and crew at Abbey Road, London

23 November 2014 • photography by Eliza Richardson

You'll recognise (left to right) John Magner, Thomas Wyler, Geoff Dunn, Josh Phillips, Gary Brooker, Dave Colquhoun, Matt Pegg, Chris Cooke
Ian Barfoot (sound) is behind John at the far left of the picture; and Maestro David Firman is back centre, baton in hand. Something somebody has said has
made these people laugh quite a lot. Looks like a very pleasant atmosphere despite the problems and anxieties associated with Geoff Whitehorn's indisposition

Abbey Road No 1 in full: 118 musicians (the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Crouch End Festival Chorus) and crew taking a break from the work of preparing Procol Harum's
Dominion Theatre performance on 24 November. Stand-in guitarist Dave Colquhoun is between Mssrs Brooker and Pegg, Note the faux grand piano, for which in the end
there was no space at the theatre. Note the absence of choral microphones at this stage (the overheads are presumably feeding orchestral sound to the Procol monitors): this was
a rehearsal room only, and no back-up recording was done here.

Thanks, Eliza and Chris
