"I just got to hear Whiter Shade of Pale and everything is OK"
Beautiful wife Pamela and myself drove down to Myrtle Beach from Lumberton, NC. House of Blues was a great venue to see the boys, very egalitarian in that the general admission tickets afforded one access to the "pit" area, and we were able to get very close to the stage, while paying much less than those in the loge.
Gary seemed a bit tired? PH closed with AWSoP, did not do Conquistador, and Matt and Geoff seemed a bit surprised when Gary indicated to them that the show was over after AWSoP ... set came in at 57/58 minutes, a bit shorter than normal, and only included nine songs. Gary's voice was in top form though, as was the band.
Had to some research to find out the title of the blues song they did (in honor of their appearance at HoB). Yours if You Want Me, a Brooker/Reid original, possibly played for the first time ever in America. Great song!
We went out for dinner after the set, but returned for last part of the Yes set, as we wanted to hear Roundabout -- before the song, Steve Howe complimented PH, again, a very classy and appreciated gesture.
Audience enjoyed Procol, heard several positive comments and nothing negative! Pam overheard the bathroom attendant ask a patron how she was doing -- the response ...
