Still sparkling with colour on a dull afternoon in June 2012 !
There is no size marking on the label, but for your guidance
BtP's headless 'model' in the
photographs stands 70 inches high, has a 37-inch chest and weighs 163 pounds
It is in very good condition for a garment of its age, but
under the arms
hand washing has reduced the brightness, as this picture attempts to show.
Label, inside the collar: Alkasura was a designer boutique run by
John Lloyd at 304 King’s Road from 1969 to c. 1974. Lloyd dressed such
luminaries
as Rod Stewart and Marc Bolan (a particular friend) but developed a religious
mania, occasionally stalking the streets of Chelsea in
monkish attire, and finally immolating himself on a building site, having
declared that there was no
love in the world
Gary Brooker, Autumn 2011, in the control room of his studio in deepest Surrey, displays the garment, which has been mothballed in a zip-fronted bag
