Kristiansand is in the Southern part of Norway in an area considered the "sun coast" of the country. Located by the sea, it has also been named "Gateway to Europe". You can travel to Kristiansand in several ways:
By air
Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik, has international
connections to Copenhagen in Denmark, and can be reached by
direct flights from most parts of the world. Maers Air also has a
flight between London and Kristiansand through Copenhagen.
There are several daily flights to Stavanger and Oslo, both Norwegian airports with several international connections.
By boat
Car ferries connect Kristiansand to Denmark (Hirtshals) with many daily sailings. The crossing-time varies between 2.5 and 4.5 hours, depending on the ship (some night crossings may take longer to allow for sleeping time for passengers). ColorLine
Car ferry to Gothenborg (Sweden) and Newcastle (England). This connection is not daily, but you may arrive from Newcastle early morning on the 26 May. The usable connection from Sweden will arrive in the afternoon of Thurday 24. DFDS
