Procol Harum at Treviso, Italy

Setlist: 6 July 2007

Brooker, Dunn, Pegg, Phillips, Whitehorn

If you were able to get to this gig, please send us all your pictures, memorabilia, interviews and so forth!

The VIP Room
Homburg
Typewriter Torment (wonderful drums)
Beyond the Pale
Grand Hotel (very dramatic piano into O Sole Mio; then GB spoke about Elvis and went into It's Now or Never and then back to complete Grand Hotel)
Simple Sister (Gary up dancing to the bass/drum build-up and standing throughout midsection)
Something Following Me (more fantastic solos from Josh and Geoff Whitehorn)
Conquistador (and yet another great solo from Josh. He seems to have grown into the Hammond slot very nicely)
Fat Cats
A Rum Tale
(You Can't) Turn Back the Page (beautiful play between bass and lead bringing a sultry opening)
Pandora's Box (Gary says 'I always thought this had a Latin feeling'; Josh adds a nice Latin touch to his final solo.  Gary says. 'Anyone feel like dancing?' And they go into a rumba jam of the melody)
Seem to Have the Blues Most all of the Time (completely reworked: needs to be heard by all)
Whisky Train ('The Grappa Blues' and again a new beginning. 'Hey there Lord, pour me a grappa: I don't mean a small one, one that revs my slappa'; extended absolutely brilliant drum solo and a new power ending)
This World is Rich (Gary says 'this world is rich but not everybody's got it, mostly': Gary seems to have slowed the pacing and it's more bluesy – 'not everyone knows my position ...  I speak of Nelson Mandela'. He throws in Zika nor Nama / Hesah during  'This world is rich but it is not mine')
A Salty Dog (gave me chills tonight – as if time had stood still)

Encore

A Whiter Shade of Pale (Gary says 'we will open with a new variation' and the crowd loves it all including the Bach cadenza ending)
Soundcheck

Glimpses of Nirvana
Last Train to Niagara
Sister Mary
For Liquorice John (timing and pacing of midsection through the last verse and ending)

Thanks, Stefano and One-Eye

Comments from One-Eye, who also contributed the song notes above: 'This was the best of Italy imho. These guys honestly like each other and communicate very well. I would venture to say that Geoff Dunn is best and most consistent drummer I have seen play with the band since BJ. They come off as a band, as they should!'
